The Mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical
choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath
and Law.
The Boy Scouts of America is chartered by Congress and incorporated to provide a
program that offers effective character, citizenship and personal fitness training
for youth.
The Scouting program is an informal educational system which promotes quality family
time. The aim of Scouting is character training, to become an independent person,
helpful to other people and an involved citizen. A Scout is provided independence,
leadership, the ambition to learn, a law with positive goals, and the example of
the leader. Celebrating 100 years in 2010, the scouting program’s consistent and
unwavering curriculum is a unique quality of our organization.
The Indian Nations Council, Boy Scouts of America was incorporated in 1913 to provide
an educational leadership program for youth. The Indian Nations Council serves 28,000
families throughout 18 counties in eastern Oklahoma. The Council also serves 4,300
adult leaders and youth mentors.
The Indian Nations Council serves boys and girls ages 7 – 20 years through the Cub
Scout, Boy Scout, Venturing, Exploring, and Learning for Life programs annually.
The Indian Nations Council, Boy Scouts of America is honored to be a beneficiary
of the Tulsa Charity Fight Night XIX. Proceeds will be used to fund a challenge
grant which will support and complete the new Activities Center on the historic
Camp Garland Boy Scout property owned and operated by the Indian Nations Council,
